With mapping groups, you link your product data, such as images, to the data of the marketplace. You do this in combination with other product information such as a title, description, and other additional information.

In order to successfully list your products on various channels, it's important to pay close attention to the requirements for product images. EffectConnect provides a list of guidelines to help you understand what is required for product images on each channel.

  • To begin with, product images must be publicly reachable via HTTP or HTTPS URLs, without any authentication requirements. The more high-quality content a product has, the greater the chances of it converting. Therefore, it's advisable to provide as many quality images as possible. However, different channels have varying requirements when it comes to the number of images per product.

  • Most channels require product images to have a minimum resolution of 500x500 px. Images that are smaller than this may be rejected for content purposes. Similarly, most channels require a maximum resolution of 5,000x5,000 px for product images. Images that are larger than this may also be rejected. In general, the more content a product has the higher are its chances to convert. Make sure to provide as many quality images as possible. Different channels allow for different numbers of images per product.

  • It's also important to note that most channels require product images to be in a specific file format, such as JPEG or PNG. If your product images are in a different format than what is required by the channel you are working with, you will need to convert them first.

  • For main product images, most channels require a white background. However, additional product images may contain different backgrounds, other items, different angles, etc. to better showcase the product. Keep in mind that each channel may have its own unique requirements for product images.
