The Note field: record why you set something up the way you did
An optional field on repricer rules, repricer scenarios, product selections, custom attributes and additional data sources where you can leave extra context.
When you create a repricer rule or a product selection, you know exactly why you're setting it up that way. A few months later, or when a colleague takes a look, that reasoning is often gone. Why is the margin lower on this rule? Which supplier was this selection meant for again?
The Note field lets you record that explanation on the item itself. That way you, your colleagues and the Support Team can see at a glance what a configuration is meant to do.

Where do you find the Note field?
You'll find the Note field in the same place where you give the item its name, in these modules:
- Repricer rules – when creating and editing a rule, below the name field and just above Tags.
- Repricer scenarios – in the slideout where you add or view a scenario, below the name field.
- Product selections – on the selection's detail page, below the name and just above Tags.
- Custom attributes – on the attribute's detail page, just above Tags.
- Additional data sources – on a source's detail page below the name, and already in step 1 when you add a new source.
Adding or editing a note
- Open the repricer rule, scenario, product selection, custom attribute or additional data source you want to add a note to.
- Click the Note field and type your explanation. You can use multiple lines, so there's no need to squeeze it into a single sentence.
- Save the item the way you normally would.
The note is then visible straight away on that item's page or slideout — you don't have to expand or click anything to read it.
Want to change a note later on? Just open the item again and overwrite the text. A note is a regular input field, so you can update it as often as you like, or clear it completely.
What's worth putting in a note?
A note is meant for short context, not for a full manual. Think of things like:
- The purpose of the configuration: "This rule keeps our A-brands at least 5% above the cheapest competitor."
- Agreements with a supplier or brand, for example about a minimum price.
- Why a setting differs from your standard approach, such as a lower margin on remaining stock.
- Whether something is temporary, and until when: "Temporary for the Black Friday campaign, back to 12% after 1 December."
- Which product group or channel this setup belongs to.
Who can see and edit notes?
Anyone with access to the module can read, add and edit notes. No separate permissions are needed: this works for all users,
