Everything you need to know about the bol supplier connection (vendor)
Besides the regular seller role, you can also act as a supplier (Vendor) on Bol. In this model, Bol buys your products themselves and takes care of selling them to the consumer.
Characteristics
- Bol buys your products
- Sales run entirely through Bol themselves
- The connection runs via FTPS (no API)
- There is no order connection
Only the following data is exchanged through this connection:
- Stock
- Content
- Purchasing information
Requirements to offer your products
- Mapping group: the product needs to be assigned to a valid mapping group. This determines the product category.
- Mandatory fields, these always need to be filled in:
- Purchase price
- Stock
- Minimum order quantity
- Availability
How it works
- EffectConnect generates a CSV feed and sends it to Bol.
- Bol reviews the feed and decides for themselves which products they actually purchase.
- The feed is automatically regenerated every hour.
Technical setup
- You'll need FTP access, for example through a client like FileZilla.
- In some cases a custom import is necessary, depending on your situation.
- Always align the setup with a specialist, since the technical setup may require custom work.
Step-by-step
To start using the supplier connection:
- Let your account manager at Bol know that you want to automate this process through EffectConnect. You'll then receive login details for an FTPS location (File Transfer Protocol Secure) where EffectConnect can store stock data online.
- Store these login details securely in your EffectConnect account. Want to know how to share these details securely with EffectConnect? Then read this article.
- Let us know that you'd like to use the Bol supplier connection, so we can add it to your EffectConnect account. We're happy to help you with this.
