Error 5461 - Listing Limitations apply
If you're trying to use a barcode number for a brand-name item, and you encounter this error code, it likely means that the barcode does not match the registered barcode for that brand. Amazon possibly applies Listing Limitations and operates a Brand Registry program that allows brands to register their own barcodes. Therefore, the barcode you're trying to use may not correspond to the specific brand in question, even if the brand is already listed on Amazon.
You can check this yourself and request permission to become a reseller of the brand using the instructions below:
1. Go to Amazon Seller Central
2. Look up your product in the search bar
3. Click on the Show limitations link and check the limitations
4. If listing limitations apply you can then request permission to become a reseller of the brand
Please check YouTube Amazon Seller University for more information.
Error 8005
This is caused when an attempt is made to change an identity attribute for a specific SKU (Stock Keeping Unit). This means that the product data that was submitted has been altered, and the product will be associated with a different product in the Amazon catalog (based on its ASIN) once the data is processed. To fix this issue, the following steps can be taken:
- Remove the product that is causing the error from your product selection in EffectConnect.
- Wait for 24 hours before relisting the SKU.
- Update the product data in the EffectConnect mapping.
- Re-add the product to your product selection after a minimum of 24 hours. It's worth noting that Amazon may not process the data contribution immediately. If no changes are made after several hours, it's recommended to reach out to Amazon's support for further assistance. You can find more information on this topic on Amazon's Seller Central.
Error 8026: Not Authorized to List Products in Category
Some brands, ASINs, categories, and sub-categories on Amazon require approval before you can begin selling. If you try to submit product data for a category or sub-category that you're not authorized to sell in, you will receive error 8026.
Here are the categories on Amazon that require approval:
- Baby products
- Consumer electronics
- Collectible Coins,
- Entertainment Collectibles,
- Fine Art,
- Grocery & Gourmet Foods
- Health & Personal Care
- Music and DVD,
- Office Products
- Outdoors
- Personal Computers
- Pet Supplies
- Software
- Sports Collectibles,
- Toys & Games
- Video, DVD & Blu-ray,
- Watches.
Fix Amazon Error 8026:
To resolve this error, you need to request approval from Amazon through your Amazon Seller Central account. Follow these instructions:
1. Go to the Inventory menu and select "Add a Product."
2. Search for the item you want to sell.
3. In the search results, click on the "Listing Limitations Apply" link next to the item.
4. Click the "Request Approval" button to start the application process.
5. To check the status of your application, go back to the "Add a Product" tool and click on "Manage your selling applications."
It's important to note that obtaining Amazon category approval is not always a straightforward process. Each category has its own prerequisites that sellers must meet to receive authorization. For example, some categories may require you to provide invoices from your suppliers, a website URL, or other documentation to verify the authenticity of your product.
Additionally, categories like "Automotive & Powersports" may require sellers to demonstrate a certain level of performance. It's crucial to maintain high performance and adhere to Amazon's selling policies in order to continue selling in these categories. Amazon may periodically review your performance and adherence to policies even after you receive approval.
While applying for Amazon category approval can be a rigorous process, it is an essential step. Yet remember that selling in restricted categories without approval can result in the removal of your selling privileges.
Error 8032
This error occurs when there is an attempt to change the relationship between a parent product and a variation of that product, but the variation already has another product listed as its parent. To resolve this issue:
- Delete the existing relationship between the parent product and the variation in the EffectConnect mapping or webshop.
- Re-submit a new relationship between the desired parent product and the variation. It's important to note that more information on this issue can be found on Amazon's Seller Central.
Error 8057
This error from Amazon occurs when the condition type value submitted for a specific SKU differs from the existing condition type value in the Amazon catalog. You cannot change the condition type associated with a product while offers for that product are active on Amazon.
To resolve this issue, you must first remove any existing offers before you can update the condition type value.
To solve this using tab-delimited inventory files, do the following:
- On EffectConnect, remove the product from the product selection.
- Wait until the offer is deleted from Seller Central (ideally, wait 24 hours before you continue with the next step).
- Add the product to the product selection again. The offer with the correct condition is now added. It's important to note that more information on this issue can be found on Amazon's Seller Central.
Error 8058
This error occurs when an invalid value is provided for a specific field in the product file. To resolve this issue, you need to resubmit your product data with a valid value in the specified field.
For example, if the seller provides a weight but fails to provide a value for the item_weight_unit_of_measure field, they will receive this error.
To solve this, resubmit the product data with a valid value for the item_weight_unit_of_measure field in the EffectConnect mapping. It's important to note that more information on this issue can be found on Amazon's Seller Central.
Error 8105
This error occurs when data is submitted for an attribute that does not match the list of valid values. To resolve this issue, you should select a valid value from the data definitions and resubmit the information on EffectConnect.
For example, if you submit a color attribute for a product but the value you provided is not one of the valid color options, you will receive this error. To solve this, you should select one of the valid color options and resubmit the product data on EffectConnect.
Error 8115
This error occurs when an invalid Condition type value is submitted in your inventory file or product data feed using EffectConnect. To resolve this error, you should resubmit your product data with a valid Condition type value.
Valid values for Condition type include:
- New
- Refurbished
- UsedLikeNew
- UsedVeryGood
- UsedGood
- UsedAcceptable
- CollectibleLikeNew
- CollectibleVeryGood
- CollectibleGood
- CollectibleAcceptable
It is important to note that some Condition type values might not be valid for all product categories. So, you should check the valid values for the specific product category you are submitting.
Error 8541
This error is also known as the 'single matching error', occurs when the product ID (such as UPC, EAN, ISBN, etc.) submitted using EffectConnect corresponds to the product ID of an existing ASIN.
This means that some of the information submitted contradicts the product information (such as title, brand, color, size, etc.) that already exists for that particular ASIN. This product information may belong to a brand owner, for example.
To solve this, you should check the existing product information on Amazon's catalog and make sure that the information you are submitting match with it. You can also reach out to Amazon's support for assistance in resolving this issue.
Error 8560
This error is related to issues with your product ID, which is pushed to Amazon along with the stock and price as part of the offer export using EffectConnect. To troubleshoot this error, the following steps can be taken:
- Check if your product ID is correct
- Check the character requirements. For example, 12 digits for UPCs, 13 digits for EANs, and 10 digits for ISBNs.
- Validate your product ID from the authorized GS1 website.
- If you have applied for UPC exemption, use the same brand name for the specific feed product type in which the exemption has been given. Update your data and resubmit.
2. Missing required fields in the inventory template:
- Check if all required fields are complete.
- Use the correct inventory file template for your product category.
- Make sure that the category (feed_product_type) field is correct and corresponds to the brand name for which the exemption has been granted.
- The external product ID and external product ID type need to be filled in if you have product codes such as UPC, EAN, and ISBN. If you have approval for UPC exemptions, leave the boxes empty.
- If your products do not have a UPC or barcodes, you can apply for an exemption. Wait for 2-3 hours after receiving the exemption before starting with the listings. Update your data and resubmit.
3. The product ID does not match any ASINs:
- Check if your product ID is correct.
- Check the character requirements. For example, 12 digits for UPCs, 13 digits for EANs, and 10 digits for ISBNs.
- Check for conformity with industry standards, using an online resource such as a UPC validation tool.
- If you need to fix an incorrect product ID, update your data and resubmit.
- If your product ID is new to the Amazon catalogue, a new ASIN must be created. Make sure that the product has been categorized accordingly in the EffectConnect mapping and that all required content attributes have been mapped correctly.
More information on this issue can be found on Amazon's Seller Central.
Error 8566
This error occurs when you have not yet established a solid sales history with Amazon, one of your SKUs does not match any ASIN, and the product data provided using EffectConnect is not eligible for ASIN creation. As you increase your sales, your capacity to create new ASINs increases as well.
If you are an established seller and have created a high number of new ASINs, Amazon may temporarily remove your ability to create new ASINs. This is evaluated on a monthly basis.
To resolve this error, you should try to increase your sales history with Amazon, and make sure that the product data you are submitting is eligible for ASIN creation.
Error 8571
This error occurs when Amazon has temporarily removed your ability to submit listings (i.e. creating new offers or new ASINs) using EffectConnect because an unusually high number of listings have been created from your account.
Amazon has an undisclosed limit for new products for relatively new merchants. This limit is reset every Sunday.
To resolve this issue, you should wait until Sunday to submit new products or offers.
It's also important to note that more information on this issue can be found on Amazon's Seller Central.
Error: SKU [XXXXX] is associated to more than 1 GCID, which is not allowed
Error: SKU [XXXX] is associated to more than 1 GCID, which is not allowed. Please send a delete feed for this SKU and all other SKUs with the same attribute values [merchant_suggested_asin], and then resubmit the SKUs.
This error can occur when the product you are trying to link to Amazon has already been added to your Amazon Seller account but with a different SKU. To resolve this error, it is important to ensure that the SKUs are adjusted so that they match both on your webshop/EC and on Amazon.
