Creating a new repricer rule

To create a new repricing rule, click on the “Create new repricer rule” button. If no rules exist yet, this button will appear in the centre of the dashboard. If rules already exist, the button will appear above the list of existing rules.

Give your repricing rule a name, select the connection to which the rule applies (this cannot be changed later), and optionally add a tag. Then click “Save and continue editing”.

Configuring or editing the repricer

After creating a new repricing rule or editing an existing one, you will enter the settings screen. This screen contains several tabs where you can configure or modify specific aspects of the repricer.

Basic settings

On this page, you will find the fundamental properties of the repricing rule. For example, you can change the rule’s name, add or remove a tag, and enable or disable the rule.

Calculation Status

When this setting is enabled, the repricing rule will start performing calculations. This does not mean that the calculated prices will automatically be sent to the marketplace. You can let the rule calculate prices without synchronising them.

Synchronisation Status

When this setting is enabled, the calculated prices will be sent to the marketplace.

Note: It is possible that your price priorities in the channel settings are not set up correctly. For example, if price markups have priority 1 and all your products have a markup, then the repriced price might not be sent because it has a lower priority. You can read more about this in the relevant article.

You can also enable synchronisation only within a specific date and time range.

Note: If the end time should be the end of the day, use 23:59, not 00:00.

Buybox maximisation

This feature remembers the best price at which you won the buy box, as long as competitor price and delivery data remain unchanged.

Creating attributes for calculations

For each repricing rule, a channel attribute is created containing the calculated value per product — for the minimum price, maximum price, and calculated price.

Look-alike products (Bol Only)

With this feature, you can include EANs of similar (look-alike) products in calculations, allowing the repricer to take other comparable products into account.

When enabled, you add an attribute containing the EANs to compare against. Instead of comparing prices on the same EAN, the repricer uses the EANs in this attribute and compares with the lowest offer among those. In this case, there is no buy box comparison.

If you want to use the look-alike repricer, you can contact us, and we’ll help set up a suitable attribute. We will need to know which other EAN codes you would like to compare.

Condition of products being compared

If you only sell new items, leave the condition set to NEW.

If you also sell refurbished items, set the product condition(s) that the repricer should compare prices against.

Condition names may differ between marketplaces.

Product Conditions

In this tab, you can specify the conditions that products must meet to be included in this repricing rule.

You can either select an existing product selection that meets the criteria with this setting:

You can also create a new product selection directly from this screen by clicking on this button:

Default price limits

In this tab, you can set a minimum and maximum selling price, which will then serve as the basis for scenarios and actions.

The “Default formula for setting my selling price” is optional — normally you use a specific formula for each scenario.

Click on the “Enter formula or amount” fields to open the Formula Builder, which is explained in this separate article.

Scenarios and actions

Within this tab, you’ll find several sub-tabs:

  • There are other sellers – for scenarios where other sellers are active on the same EAN.

  • There are no other sellers – for scenarios where you are the only seller on that EAN.

  • There are no online offers – for scenarios where no sellers (including yourself) have active offers, for example due to stockouts or missing product information.

There are other sellers

Within this sub-tab, you can adjust base scenarios or create new ones in three predefined situations.

You have the buy box

Click the pencil icon to edit the base scenario; this will open a slide-out panel.

Here you can define how you want to handle pricing, calculate a price or exclude the product from the repricing rule.

You can also override the previously entered default formulas by deselecting “Use default formula” or by setting specific formulas if reduced commission applies (Bol only).

For example, deselect “Apply standard formula” under “Set my selling price to”, then click in the field to enter a formula.

In this scenario, we hold the buybox, though it might be possible to slightly increase the price within the buybox. We could use the formule MAX(CR+1;CR*1.01), with this formula, the price would increase with 1 EUR or with 1%, whichever is higher as we use the function 'MAX'.

Click Apply to save the changes, and click Apply again to save within the scenario.

You can also build entirely new scenarios in the “You have the buy box” block, for example, to use different pricing actions based on specific conditions. Click “Add scenario” to start.

You can give the scenario a name, toggle it on or off.

You can also set specific active days and times (optional). For example, to run a scenario from Monday 15:00 until midnight, set the end time to 23:59.

You can then add conditions to your scenario by clicking on 'Add condition;

In this example, you have the buybox and you will be able to use the following additional conditions (you can use more than one):

Any of the sellers If another seller is present, you may want to apply a specific price adjustment.
I am not the cheapest seller You have the Buy Box, but another seller is already cheaper. You might not want to increase your price, or only do so in very small steps.
I am the cheapest seller You have the Buy Box and are the cheapest. In this case, you may want to make larger upward price adjustments, as there is theoretically room to do so.
None of the sellers If a specific seller is not present, I want to adjust my price by Y.
Not seller with the buybox If seller X does not have the Buy Box, I want to adjust my price by Y.
Previous reprice price A condition based on a previous calculation.
Price from seller with the buybox If the Buy Box seller lowers their price below a certain level, you may want to follow more aggressively, or not at all.
Product conditions A condition based on an attribute from your catalogue.
Seller delivery time (in days) For example, enter “less than 7” to exclude sellers with a long delivery time from the scenario.
Seller rating For example, if the rating is higher than 6, you may want to react to a price change. But for sellers with lower ratings, you may choose not to.
Seller with the buybox In this case, you will be the seller yourself, but in other scenarios, you can enter a competitor’s seller ID here. You can then adjust your price specifically when that seller has the Buy Box, for example by being more aggressive or not changing at all.

In this example, we choose for the condition 'I am the cheapest seller' and we will set the 'action to execute' on 'caclulate price':

We deselect the checkmark at 'Apply standard formula' at 'Set my selling price to' and click on the 'Enter formula or amount' box. In this case, we hold the buybox and we are the cheapest seller, therefore, we may want to increase our price a little bit more aggressively. We will use the formula MAX(CR+2;CR*1.02) and click on 'Apply':

This creates a scenario with a different formula for the case where you have the buy box and are the cheapest seller.

Another seller has the buy box

You can also build custom scenarios here, similar to the “You have the buy box” section.

For many users, adjusting the formula of the base scenario is sufficient.

For example, you might use a formula that compares your previous repriced price - €1, previous repriced price - 1%, and the competitor's buy box price, choosing the lowest. We can use this formula in order to achieve this:

Nobody has the buy box (Amazon Only)

On Amazon, it can happen that no direct buy box is shown — customers must click “See all buying options.” In this scenario, you can choose how you want to position your price, for example becoming the cheapest seller behind that button or lowering your price to try and capture (actually create) the buy box.

There are no other sellers

Within this tab, there are two possibilities, you have the buybox (you are the only seller with an active offer) or nobody has the buy box.

You have the buy box

Within this scenario, you have the buybox, but there is no direct competition of another seller on the same marketplace on the same EAN. You may choose to set your price slightly higher than normal to get a higher margin on your sales. On Bol, you might use a star price to remain market-relevant and prevent your offer from being taken offline.

Nobody has the buybox

The reason for this scenario is the same as within the scenario 'there are other sellers'.

There are no online offers

This tab contains a basic scenario for when no active offers are available, not by you or any of your competitors, for example, due to stockouts or non-market-relevant prices.

Bol margin optimisation

When this functionality (formerly called “Danger Zone”) is enabled, the repricer will automatically calculate whether the calculated price gives the highest margin based on marketplace commission rates (Bol only).

If a slightly lower price with lower commission yields a higher margin, the repricer will adjust accordingly. For example, if €19.99 results in lower commission and a higher margin than €20.01, the price will be set to €19.99, as long as this does not violate your minimum price formula.

Sellers

In this tab, you can specify whether you want to exclude or only compete with certain sellers. You can also set conditions sellers must meet, for example, excluding sellers with long delivery times or low ratings from repricing comparisons.
