About the connection
A connection with your Lightspeed webshop is ready-to-use and does not need any technical knowledge to set up. You just simply install our app in the app store of your Lightspeed webshop.
How to set up a connection between Lightspeed and EffectConnect?
The installation between Lightspeed and EffectConnect is simple, fast and very user-friendly. You simply install the EffectConnect app in the app store of your Lightspeed environment.
- Enter the app store in your Lightspeed backend, or go to this link to go directly to the app store page of the EffectConnect plugin, and install the plugin.
- Follow the instructions to create an EffectConnect account. Please keep in mind that you can not use your e-mail address more than once to register an EffectConnect account. It is possible though to merge and connect multiple EffectConnect accounts to one e-mail address after installing. Contact our support team to request a merge of accounts.
- All done! Your account is created and the connection is established.

*Because we depend on receiving updates from the webshop, we also import this data ourselves at static times, just to be sure we didn't miss any updates.

Wait, there is more! Within EffectConnect you can configure different settings for your Lightspeed connection.
Shipment- and payment method
In these settings, you can define which shipment- and payment methods EffectConnect should use when exporting an order to Lightspeed.
To change these settings, navigate in EffectConnect to 'API' > 'Lightspeed settings'. On this page you can drag and drop the shipment- and payment method by your needs. When an order is exported, EffectConnect loops through the selected methods until Lightspeed has accepted the order.
If you would like EffectConnect to ignore the shipment- and payment methods from Lightspeed, then enable the checkbox that says 'Use your own method'.
Remove shipping costs with a discount code
In the ideal situation, you use separate shipment methods for your marketplace orders so Lightspeed does not add shipment costs to your marketplace orders.
In some situations, it may be difficult to use separate shipping methods or you don't want to change your shipping methods. In this case, there is a chance that Lightspeed adds shipping costs to the order, while this is not needed.
It is possible to enable a setting that EffectConnect sends an extra command while exporting the order that shipping costs need to be removed after they're added.
Various settings
It is also possible to change the following settings:
- Enable or disable live updates, catalog, images, (cost)price, stock or shipment import
- Enable or disable order export to Lightspeed
- Change SKU, description, title, or brand field for import
- Change the default language for import
- Enable or disable invisible products
- Enable or disable order notification e-mails
- Change the comment field when exporting an order to Lightspeed
- Enable or disable exporting orders as company client to Lightspeed
Please note: These settings can be very useful to change, but are also critical for a good operation of the connection. Our support department can help you apply the right settings. If you're in need of a change, don't hesitate to contact us.
