What is the Translations Module
Discover the benefits of using our Translations Module, a powerful tool designed to simplify one of the most time-consuming tasks for you. With this module, EffectConnect generates a new attribute containing the translated text, making it easy for you to incorporate it into your mapping process.

While we strive for accuracy, it may not always provide perfect translations, and the results may vary depending on the complexity of the content and the languages involved.
How to use the Translations Module
Overview
Find the tool at Catalog > Translations.
Within the overview you are able to:
- Create a new translation rule
- Search for existing translation rules
- Filter within the translations module
- View the detail page
- Duplicate rules (this will take the settings from the selected rule and transfer them to a new translation rule where you can adjust your settings and see the costs again)
Create a new translation rule
1. Click on the button to create a new rule:
Step-by-step guide
- Give your translation rule a recognizable name
- Choose the catalog language from which we need to retrieve the values
- Define the products to which this rule applies (if you choose specific conditions, an additional block will appear where you can set your 'if' conditions)
- Select the attributes you want to translate
- Choose the translation service: DeepL or Google Translate
- Determine the source language (the language in which the content of your selected attributes is currently written)
- Choose the target language to which it should be translated
- View the costs of the action below and click the button to see the values found
- Check the button to agree to the terms and conditions if you would like to apply the translation. If you do not check this box you can only save your translation rule as a draft.
- After saving the rule to execute it, you will be taken back to the overview page where the rule is being processed.

If the status bar is green, it means that the translation is complete. If not, please check back later to see if it is finished.
- If he status bar is green, click on the eye icon to go to the detail page and view the results!
The processing time may vary depending on the number of characters that need to be translated. Please be patient during this process.
View the results
When you open the details of a previously translated rule, you will see the results.
The translated values are stored in EffectConnect under a new attribute, and we generate a name for it. You can modify this name using the pencil icon:
At product level in EffectConnect, under the "Attributes" tab a new tab is added called "Translations" where you can find the translated attributes.

You can download the results as a CSV file and manually revert back to your original values if needed.
To make adjustments to the results, simply click on the pencil icon to change the value.
Rule settings
You can modify these settings if you want to apply a new action to the same rule, such as adding a new attribute or translating more products.
This rule applies to specific products based on certain conditions:
- Your catalog language
- The chosen translation service
- The source language
- The target language
If you have more products in the future or manually adjust them, this section will show you if your current rule is up to date or if you can perform a new action plus the associated costs.
Completed actions within this translation rule
In the lowest section, you can view the completed actions.
It's important to note that a single rule can have multiple actions associated with it.
By clicking on the blue eye icon, a slide-out opens with the details of each action.
Here you can also download the summarized information here and have access to all the details.
Pricing
The price of the service is € 0,001 per character.
- The Translations Module is a usage-based module
- The costs are displayed upfront when creating a new translation rule
- You must agree to these costs and our Terms and Conditions before the translation can be executed
- If you want the translation or its cost to think it over, you can save a rule without agreeing. The rule will be saved as a draft and can be executed at a later time.
