What are the price stars of bol.com?

When you sell on bol.com, it is important that you sell your products at the right price. Of course, it should not be too low, but certainly not too high either.

To ensure you have the correct prices for your products, you can keep an eye on the price stars on bol.com. These indicate whether your prices are correct. For example, do you have a 4 or 5-star price? Then you are doing well. Obviously, it is not possible to keep track of all this manually, and that's exactly why EffectConnect offers the possibility to use these price stars in the Repricer. This way you can automate your pricing, taking into account the bol.com price stars. This way you can always get the best price!

How do I use the price stars in the Repricer?

To use price stars in Repricer, use a variable that represents these price stars. Just as in Repricer you use the abbreviation 'PI' for your purchase price or 'PV' for your selling price, you can now also use 'STAR3', 'STAR4', and 'STAR5'. This way you can set your own price at 'STAR5' for example. Then you know for sure that your price is set to the very best price.

Of course, getting the buy box depends on a number of factors. The price alone is not enough. Do you also have an excellent delivery time and good delivery service? Then it might be enough to make use of STAR4.

In the example below, we used the STAR3 placeholder in the formulas.

The price is adjusted to the competitor's price, minus 50 cents. The maximum price we use is the lower of the 2 values between STAR3 or my selling price + 20%. The minimum product price is the purchase price + 20%, + €4.95. Over that whole price we add 21% VAT.

What if there are no price stars available for a product?

Although most of the offerings at bol.com contain price stars, there may be some products that do not contain price stars. The value in STAR3, STAR4, and STAR5 placeholders will then be '0'.

To prevent the Repricer from calculating incorrect prices, you can use the MINNOTZERO formula. What this formula does is; it takes the lowest price (the minimum) of the 2 values unless it contains the value 0. If one of the two values contains '0', it will skip that value and select the other one.
