What is a feed?

In simple terms

A feed is basically a list of certain information. In the e-commerce world, this is usually information about your products and associated information such as categories, colors, materials, stock information, etc.

In case of a technical feed, you create a list of information that matches the information that the other party needs. So, for example, if you want to send your products to Google Shopping, you will need to create a list that meets Google's specifications so that they can understand and load the list as well.

So a feed is just a list of data. And the data that it contains is adjusted to what you want to use the list for. In addition, a feed also contains the products you want to use. For example, if you only want to send products from a specific category to Google Shopping, then you don't need to add your other products to the feed as well.

kb-info  If you would like to know in what way the other party wants to receive the feed, try consulting their documentation, or contact their help desk.  But, keep in mind that we've done a lot of work already, read below to know more.

How to use this in the Feed Manager?

Fortunately, EffectConnect's feed manager has ready-made templates for most comparison sites to get you started.

We have already investigated in advance how the other party would like to receive the data and created templates for this. This way you only have to indicate where to find which data, and the Feed Manager does the rest for you.
