What does the stock setting 'Do not mutate stock levels for open orders' (managedbyretailer) in a bol channel mean?

For a Bol channel in EffectConnect, you have the option to enable or disable the use of in-house stock. This feature is referred to as 'Do not mutate stock levels for open orders.' Think of it as an internal reservation system.

Where do I find this setting?

  • Go to Apps > My Apps > Bol > Settings > Stock

How does the setting work?

When the setting is enabled, Bol will retain the stock value after each stock update.

Conversely, if the setting is disabled, Bol will reduce the available stock of the product by the quantity reserved in other open orders, a process referred to by Bol as 'pending stock.'

Setting is disabled: If you have 2 open orders in your Bol account, Bol will reduce the available stock by the quantity of these open orders until they are shipped. This means that, during a stock update from EffectConnect while these orders remain open, Bol will automatically deduct 2 units from the stock received.

Setting is enabled: Bol will not reserve stock for other pending orders and will instead directly represent your available stock.

kb-info Changes will be visible in your Bol account after the next stock synchronization, which may take a little time.
