About Groupon
Groupon is a service that can save you money through the use of virtual coupons. Much like a physical coupon book, you can use Groupon to get deals of up to 70% off of all sorts of things, from food and retail products to travel and services.
Please keep in mind that you must have a seller account with the marketplace, without an account you cannot sell. Each marketplace may have its own terms and conditions, always read them carefully before you start selling.
Please keep in mind that the connection with Groupon only synchronizes the orders and shipments between Groupon, EffectConnect, and your webshop. Stock, content, and other information is not synchronized.
How to create or enrich product data on Groupon?
It is not possible to create or enrich product data for Groupon. With this connection, you can only synchronize orders between the marketplace and your webshop.
EffectConnect will import the orders and send shipments to the marketplace.
About the synchronization times
A Groupon channel synchronizes according to the default synchronization times EffectConnect maintains. To read more about our synchronization intervals, read this article.
Good to know about the customer information
- Groupon has only one field for name information, there is no first- and last name but only a 'name' field. We will export the information from this field to the last name field in EffectConnect and your webshop.
- We don't receive e-mail addresses from the customers from Groupon, so these fields will be empty in EffectConnect and your webshop.
The 2 points mentioned above can give difficulties while exporting the orders. Your webshop may reject the orders because of the missing information. To solve this, you can use order export modifications, which gives you the possibility to fill in dummy information to the empty fields before the orders get exported.
Troubleshoot
I don't have, or forgot, my API keys for configuring Groupon
You can generate new keys inside your Groupon seller central. If you don't know where to find them, please contact your account manager at Groupon.
My (new) products don't show up in my Groupon account
Please contact your account manager at Groupon. Because EffectConnect only synchronizes orders between Groupon and your webshop, we don't send any product data towards the marketplace.
