How to add an Amazon channel?

An Amazon channel is added via the channel manager of EffectConnect. To know how this works, read this article

Please keep in mind that you must have a seller account with the marketplace, without an account you cannot sell. Each marketplace may have its own terms and conditions, always read them carefully before you start selling. 

About Amazon

Amazon is the world's largest marketplace. You can find products in almost every category, which makes Amazon a very promising platform for almost every seller.

You can sell on Amazon marketplaces in the Netherlands, Germany, United Kingdom, France, Spain, Italy, Poland, Turkey, and Sweden with an EffectConnect integration.

kb-info Good to know: some countries have different currencies. EffectConnect will convert your prices to the currency of the country. When EffectConnect receives an order of the marketplace, we will convert the currency back to euro.

With this channel, you can use EffectConnect's optional Repricer, which automatically adjusts your prices based on formulas and rules you create yourself.

How to create or enrich product data on Amazon?

To create new products, or enrich existing product data on Amazon, you create mapping rules in EffectConnect. This is done in the channel manager. To read more about creating mapping rules, read this article.

Please keep in mind that when you want to create variant products (for product families) you need to at least fill in an option, color, or size in the mapping rules. 

kb-info Good to know: For Amazon, it is necessary to have the correct data imported into EffectConnect. It is not possible to create or enrich product information, using another language than you selected in your channel settings with an Amazon channel. 

About the synchronization times

An Amazon channel synchronizes according to the default synchronization times EffectConnect maintains. To read more about our synchronization intervals, read this article.

Good to know before activating the channel

EffectConnect regularly requests the status of your products from Amazon. This is to ensure that previously sent updates have been successfully processed. We do this based on the ASIN codes of products. This is a similar identifier as the EAN or SKU code.

However, in the case of Amazon France, ASIN codes are often disabled in the report settings, so we cannot check whether updates have been processed correctly. We have made a guide that guides you through the process of activating the ASIN codes in the reports. You can find it here.

Enter the correct seller/Merchant ID in the EffectConnect channel.  This ID can be found in the Amazon seller account via 'Settings > Account Info > Your merchant token':


After this ID has been filled, you can authorise the connection in the EffectConnect channel. This will propmt a login page of Amazon where you can enter the username and password. 

Good to know after activating the channel

After activating the channel, EffectConnect will import all the open orders from Amazon. You will normally see orders being imported within 30 minutes, but it can take up to 48 hours before all the open orders will be visible in EffectConnect and in your webshop.

It is not possible to import orders that are already sent out or completed in your Amazon dashboard.  

kb-info Good to know: Are your products not coming online automatically? Please contact us. In an exceptional case, it may be that Amazon is blocking the creation of your offer because you are still a new seller.

Troubleshoot

I don't have, or forgot, my API keys for configuring Amazon

You can generate new keys inside your Amazon seller central, if you don't know where to find them, please contact your account manager at Amazon. Also, keep in mind that you need an Amazon professional seller account to be allowed as a seller on Amazon.  For more information, please visit https://sellercentral.amazon.com.

Orders are not getting imported into EffectConnect

  • Please keep in mind that, after activating the channel in EffectConnect, it can take up to 24 hours before all the open orders are imported into EffectConnect. EffectConnect can import the orders of the last 14 days from Amazon. 
  • Read this article to check the common issues regarding missing orders

My (new) products don't show up in my Amazon account

  • Check if you created a mapping, which includes all the mandatory data.
  • Check if the products are enabled in EffectConnect
  • Check if the synchronization times are respected. If the products still don't come online, contact us for further assistance. Please keep in mind that it can take a few days before products come online in your Amazon dashboard. If you need any help regarding new products that need to be accepted by Amazon, contact your account manager at Amazon.
