About Kaufland
Kaufland.de (formerly known as Real.de) is one of the fastest-growing marketplaces in Germany. They are originally a retailer and are focusing more and more on online sales. Their wide online product range entails 25 million products in more than 5,000 different categories, which makes it an interesting marketplace for many online sellers.
Kaufland.de is part of the Schwarz Group end of 2020, a multinational retail group that also includes Lidl. This group exploits over 12,000 stores worldwide with a revenue of more than 100 billion euros. The Schwarz Group is working actively to increase their presence in online retail, as also demonstrated by their wish to include more and more external sellers.
Requesting a seller account
- Your principal office must be located within the European Union (EU) or Switzerland
- As a German marketplace, all interactions with customers, including product information and support inquiries, must be conducted in German.
- Each marketplace may have its own terms and conditions, always read them carefully before you start selling.

A German return address is mandatory
- A German VAT number is mandatory due to EU tax legislation
Note: make sure you have a commercial seller account before connecting to Kaufland via EffectConnect
Settings & configuration
For general information about adding and setting up a channel in EffectConnect please go to how to configure a channel in the Channel Manager.
Mandatoy settings that concern the Kaufland channel only in comparison to other channels in EffectConnect are:

Warehouses
Go to Settings > Stock > Warehouse to use. Create warehouses in your Kaufland sellers account and select the preferred warehouse from which you are going to ship orders. - Handling time
Go to Settings > Delivery time > Handling time attribute and Default handling time.
In EffectConnect you set up your handling time (from order to shipment) in working days. The default handling time may not be 0. Delivery times (from shipment to delivery to the customer) must be set in your Kaufland seller account under Shipping settings > Package delivery. -
Language for content creation
Go to Settings > Content > Language to publish products in. You can choose German (de-DE) , Czech (cz-CZ) and Slovak (sk-SK). -
Shipping group
Go to Settings > Orders and shipments > Kaufland shipping group.
Create shipping groups in your seller account under Shipping settings > package delivery and select the preferred one here. - Fulfilment by Kaufland (FBK) - order import
Go to settings > orders and shipments > "Import FBK orders"
This allows you to import your externally fulfilled orders from Kaufland. These orders will be imported 'shipped' with the tags externally fulfilled and FBK.
How to create or enrich product data on Kaufland?
You can create products on Kaufland by creating a mapping group in EffectConnect.
Good to know: For Kaufland it is necessary to have German/Czech/Slovak data imported into EffectConnect. It is not possible to create or enrich product information, using another language with a Kaufland channel.
Good to know: It may take some time before your (new) product information is visible on this marketplace. This is because an acceptance check is done by the marketplace itself.
Do you have questions about the lead time or processing of your product information? Then please contact the marketplace. EffectConnect is not able to speed this up.

Troubleshoot
I don't have, or forgot, my API keys for configuring Kaufland
You can generate new keys inside your Kaufland seller central. Go to Settings > Shop settings > API. Please keep in mind that you can only view your API keys once, if you need to see them again, you need to regenerate your keys.
My (new) products don't show up in my Kaufland account
Check if you created a mapping, which includes all the mandatory data. If so, check if the products are enabled in EffectConnect and if the synchronization times are respected. If the products still don't show up online, contact us for further assistance.
