Frequently asked questions

What does onboarding usually look like?

When you want to start working with EffectConnect, we first look at the integration with your existing software. This is what we usually do:

Inventory of current tools: We map out which tools you currently use in your company. Think of e-commerce platforms, existing integrations that we are going to replace, and logistics systems.

Technical integration: Based on the inventory and mapping of data flows, we will work with you to integrate EffectConnect into your software landscape. This may involve installing plug-ins, creating API integrations, or integrating via an app store.

Assessing the product data: Once the integration is in place and EffectConnect can read your product information, we will assess it. We check whether all the minimum information is available. This includes, for example, EAN codes, stock levels, and certain pricing information.

Personal onboarding: Once everything is technically in place, we will start a personal onboarding process with you. During this onboarding, we will work on a customized marketplace configuration for you and your company. We will ask you about all the decisions you encounter regarding product range, logistics, prices, etc. In this onboarding, we will work towards going live on your first marketplace with EffectConnect.

Ongoing support: After onboarding, our experienced team will provide you with ongoing support in using our platform, scaling up to other channels, or analyzing your performance through consultations.

How soon will I be live?

You can quickly go live with your first marketplace automation via EffectConnect.

Technical integration timeline: Depending on the platform you are working with, this can be very quick (within minutes) or it may require a custom integration that takes longer. If you would like to know the estimated time for your situation, please request a demo.

Onboarding timeline: After technical integration, onboarding can usually take place within 1-2 weeks. 

Going live with automation on the first marketplace: Sometimes we go live during onboarding. If it turns out that we need more information from you to set up the optimal configuration, we will go live as soon as that information is available and our team has processed it with you.

When is the right time to start?

Switching tools can be a little daunting. That's why our team works with you to make sure the transition goes smoothly.

Integration and setup: We can take care of both the technical integration and the setup of all automation within EffectConnect in the background, without disrupting your daily operations. 

Going live: We can coordinate the moment when our automation actually goes live. When you switch from another solution to EffectConnect, we help you with the steps you need to take to make a smooth live switch. We coordinate the exact moment together, but our advice is not to do this on the busiest day of the week or on Fridays (read only Friday!).

Ultimately, it's a matter of planning and agreeing together. However, we can say that most people say afterwards, “I should have done that sooner.”

How much time do I need to invest?

Implementing marketplace automation correctly takes time. That's because it's not just about creating an EffectConnect account, but much more.

Preliminary assessment: Most of the time will probably be spent on your own research phase. This is the period in which you try to map out your own ambitions regarding integrations and what your requirements are. Your current bottlenecks and software landscape, as well as insight into all processes involved in selling on marketplaces, such as price management and logistics.

You don't have to go through this phase without us. We often work with our customers to create a plan that is informed by your experience as an e-commerce manager and our experience as an integration specialist. This allows us to determine together what the right foundation should be to achieve your e-commerce goals.

Technical integration: In the case of typical e-commerce systems, this takes anywhere from 10 minutes to 2 hours. In the case of API integrations, good developers can usually set up an integration within 2 days if a good technical foundation is already in place. If this is not the case, the time required can vary greatly.

Onboarding: The onboarding process takes approximately 3 hours in total. Sometimes everything can be done in the first meeting, but depending on how much information and data you have available, this process can be carried out in several parts.
